dive into a world of fun

while on the way home from school yesterday, big sister was playing with the dvd case for “little mermaid 2” and also looking thru the advertising booklet inside it. when we got home she settled at the kitchen table with paper and pencil and started doodling. i paid little attention to her actions since i was getting dinner together, and just happy that she was entertaining herself. when dinner was ready and i told her to clean up her things so we could eat, she showed me what she had been working on:

here is a close-up of her "dvd case". "dive into a world of fun" - notice the seashell shapes on the corners
i was so impressed at the drawing i just had to share. i myself have always enjoyed drawing and the challenge of copying images from photos or newspapers, so to see her developing this talent on her own is very rewarding. and she did not need any fancy art supplies or papers to entice her – just plain paper & a pencil.
and here are the inspiration images...

the booklet cover

i like how her "T" in Tinkerbell has the same loopy style as the original. very perceptive!
