"best birthday ever"

well, i pulled it off!! i arranged for husband’s dad & six out-of-town friends to come for the weekend as a birthday surprise!

when two friends dropped in thursday evening – did husband really think they were “just in the neighborhood”?? as he began to plan out the weekend for just the three of them, we had no choice but to come clean about the remaining visitors headed our way over the next few days.

thanks to husband’s boss – he was free to spend friday afternoon away from work. grandpa joined us for dinner, and then two more friends got in late friday night, but in plenty of time to hit the stage with the others. let’s just say the rock band reunion show lasted until 4am…

saturday’s party was a bit crazier – as eleven adults & seven kids descended upon our house to enjoy dinner, cakes, outdoor play, video games, catching up & good conversation. the weather was picture perfect – and even a couple of ducks dropped by to see what was going on.

i like our pool too, so i understand the attraction.

he is clearly outnumbered - with little sister using her secret weapon (tickle-tickle!!)

after the party, a late-night dip in the spa, and even more video game play, the weekend ended with a trip to see the newly-released fast and furious movie. thanks so much to all our great friends & family for travelling all those miles and making a truly memorable weekend.
