the game room before...
day 1
4 workers – 1 hour – remove everything from the room except for TV and components (let’s not unplug the DVR any sooner than necessary!!)
2 workers – 2 hours – loosen carpet, remove 40% of tack strips, realize this is going to be harder & more time-consuming than it looks on TV…
day 2
3 workers – 9 hours – the real work begins & the transformation starts to become reality. the TV is staged on one end of the room and we begin work where it was. first section of carpet is cut away and removed – there is no turning back now. as soon as the TV area is complete, we shift the TV back to its original position and remove the remaining carpet, tack strips, padding, etc. Starting in the normal area of the space where walls are perpendicular & parallel really builds up our confidence. we hear thunder, so the couch must be moved from the back patio into the center of the room (where flooring is completed) just in time before the rain begins. the 45-degree angles of the hallway slow us down but by the end of the day we have all flooring in place.

Day 3
2 workers – 4.5 hours – 80% of shoe molding is installed and really finishes out the look. caulk is a wonderful invention, which is the main reason we went with white molding instead of brown. the three wood-to-carpet transition strips are completed, leaving just the two wood-to-tile areas unresolved.
3 workers – 1 hour - most of the furniture is able to be reloaded into the room.
