there are many wonderful things we get to do as a parent, but telling your 6 & 4 year olds about the loss of a pet is not one of them. our cat, predator, became very ill and had to be put down on tuesday. we got her in '98 as a full-grown cat, so she had to be at least 15 year old. the girls are taking it well, not truly understanding what happened but just knowing she is gone. she had her flaws & quirks, but for the most part she was a good, loyal cat.
big sister came home on thursday with a sweet card.
