the 1st grade went on their annual field trip to the elm fork education center on the unt campus. the weather was beautiful for the mix of indoor and outdoor activities. we watched a cool mini-movie in the planetatium, during which the kids were oohing and ahhing at all the special effects.
we went of a nature walk to identify herbivore & carnivore statues.
there was a dig for mesohippus (middle horse) and modern horse bones.
big sister was much more timid with the sand-digging than i expected, but she eventually uncovered a jaw bone.
she got to make electricity with a bicycle to make a light bulb glow.
but her favorite was playing the part of weather forecaster and watching herself on a tv monitor. she could have done that the entire time!
