big sister got a 100 on her first spelling pre-test, so she is now a member of the 100 club! this means she gets to skip the spelling test on friday and have free time while the other kids take the test. she has 20 words to learn per week (up from only 10/week last year). we are very happy and proud she is starting off the year in a good place. she insisted on completing her 2 homework sheets (1 math and 1 spelling) on monday night, and has been doing some independent reading each night in addition to reading out loud to me. this helps me out tremendously, as little sister now also has reading homework each day – and with only one of me, it fills up my evenings fast!
