we're on our way to california! finally - no more waiting. we had a mini-melt down fighting over who got to sit by the window, but the girls eventually worked it out. they have both been on flights before but none they can remember, so this was almost a "first" for both of them. our flight was at 9:05am, and right around 9:30 was when we pulled out the real treat: lunchables snacks! whatever keeps them happy and quiet, right? the remainder of the flight was spent playing the ipads, trading seats, looking out the window, and visiting the restroom.
big sister's most favorite part of the flight was going down thru the clouds and landing. she was genuinely excited and gave us all the play-by-play during the descent. all the people around us kept turning back and smiling - it was pretty cute. after landing, retrieving our luggage, riding the tram to the rental car place & waiting in line, we loaded into our spacious ford crown victoria (for only $5 more per day) and headed towards the hotel area to find lunch. once we checked in to our home-away-from-home, we decided to spend the rest of the afternoon exploring san francisco.
