today we spent the morning exploring CuriOdyssey, an environmental science and wildlife center in san mateo. it is part of coyote point park, which overlooks the bay. the animals at the museum have all been injured or imprinted in such a way that they would not survive in the wild. most of the animals are native to california.
then we walked out along a point of land that juts out into the bay - hence the name "coyote point".
and finally, we landed at the beach. it was sunny, yet very windy and the water was chilly, but that did not stop the kids from their play. planes were flying overhead coming to and from the airport, and we watched some kite surfers and wind surfers out and about on the water.

then we were off to dinner for great-grandpa's 90th birthday celebration, where daddy shared some sushi with little sister, and she loved it. big sister wanted no part, but did enjoy the miso soup.
