today we headed north across the golden gate bridge to muir woods. we were two of the first three cars there when they opened the park gates at 8am, so we got the "early-bird FREE admission" special. i'm not sure how far we hiked, but it took over 3 hours to go up-up-up, then come back down-down-down. little sister gave us all a few scares, coming too close (in our minds, anyway) to the edge on some parts of the trail. temps were in the high 50's and we even felt a few rain drops as we got to the highest parts of the trail.
we drove back south to sausalito and ate lunch overlooking the bay, then walked around town for a bit before heading back - totally exhausted.
